Technology and big brother gadgets, for better or worse, have taken us to the next possible step in TSA screening. A passenger's rapid heart rate and heavy breathing sets off an alarm. A machine picks up his skin temperature jumping. TSA crew move in to question him and start the investigation. Is he a terrorist? Or is he simply a passenger nervous about flying? The US Department of Homeland security have high hopes that screening biometrics, can weed out the bad guys, before they strike. Critics doubt such a system can work. The idea, they say, subjects innocent travelers to the ....

Ok, you're a Canadian Motorist and you have a few credit cards. Hopefully you don't have more than 2 cards. One for Personal and maybe one for Business. If you have more than that GET RID OF THEM. If you need more credit or you need a method to pay things off at a little lower interest rate than the credit card company's offer then be smart, Get a Line of Credit. If you don't have a business, then you could easily manage with one credit card and a line of credit. In Canada I recommend the American Express Air miles ....

I have an adult daughter I love to travel with and we have been fortunate to go several places around the world together. As the saying goes she would pack everything but the kitchen sink and I knew if I had forgotten something she would have it. When she would come home for Christmas we would always laugh that she had to bring two suit cases and a carry on for a seven day stay. This same daughter came back from a trip to Switzerland and Prague this year and informed me she had only taken a carry-on bag. I was ....

Galway airport was officially opened in 1987 and this year (2008), it celebrates its 21st Birthday. In the last 21 years it has serviced the West of Ireland very well and has doubled its number of passengers. On the 8th of October last year Galway Airport welcomed customer number '2 million' to its terminal. At the moment Aer Arann is Galway Airport's only airline.Unfortunately there's very little public transport available to and from Galway Airport with just a bus service operating once a day from the city centre. There is however an excellent taxi available at the airport.A very large ....

If you have ever traveled by air you would know that how tough it is to be in good state after the flight and that is especially if you have long haul flight you better be prepared for some harsh realities. With that said, I would always vouch for the fact that it is better to be prepared than be sorry. There are a few things that you should keep in mind while traveling by air. Airports nowadays are a mess with additional security measures and checks. So make sure that your reach the airport well in time and that ....

Make sure that you have enough time at the airport before your plane leaves. Check with your airline how much time in advance you need to be at the airport, especially if you travel with certain budget airlines which close their check in extremely early. If you travel in holiday periods it may take a lot longer to check in and pass through security. Also, allow time for paying airport taxes and fees for overweight luggage or special luggage (e.g. golf clubs, surf boards) if necessary. If you are traveling from a cold country to a warm and do not have ....

Many people are often confused by this question as they see 1 way flights being advertised for what seems like an amazing bargain. In the UK for instance, airlines such as RyanAir and EasyJet constantly offer great 1 way fares. I have seen RyanAir in particular advertise 1 way fares from a little as £1 to destinations across Europe.Sadly however, when going to book the return part of the journey, once all the taxes and surcharges have been accounted for, the fare doesn't prove to be as cheap as it may have seemed in the first place. On the other hand cheap ....

Anyone who has ever experience a fear of flying may be surprised to learn that in some cases it is secondary to an actual fear of travel! The latter is not a term that is commonly found in the textbooks speaking of phobias and disorders, and generally you may find components relating to the fear of travel in such tomes - namely Agoraphobia, Claustrophobia, Xenophobia, Aviophobia, and a host of other fears and anxiety producing disorder - but an honest to goodness definition cannot be found.Experiencing the fear of travel is normal and if in your heart of hearts you ....

Flying Without Fear is the title of a book penned by Duane Brown in 1996. Citing a 1978 study by Boeing Corporation that suggested a fear of flying was ingrained in more or less 25 million Americans and thus detrimental to their enjoyment of life, the author sought to offer solace but also suggestions on how to enjoy flying without fear. (1) As the mixed reviews of the book indicate, while many a reader is able to take away something useful from the book, the author is not able to actually help each and every fearful flyer and the very ....

Do the prospects of holiday air travel rob you of your night's sleep? Does thinking of booking that flight online make you nauseous? On the drive to the airport, do you have to fight the temptation of stopping the car and getting out? Are you desperate for anything that might cure your fear of flying? If so, you are not alone!
