I had survived my first day of my 2,160 mile Appalachian Trail journey. Yesterday, I bid farewell to my family who had dropped my off in the woods near the southern terminus of the Appalachian TrailSpringer Mountain, Georgia. The temperature remained low, never breaking 40 degrees. I moved along all day, winding through the Chattahoochee National Forest, going up and down Georgias finest mountains. By mid-afternoon, I arrived at a gap in the mountains called Miller Gap. Looking at the map unfolded on my lap, the profile showed a continuous five-mile climb straight up Blood ....

Mount Trashmore is used to be a huge dump site for garbage for Virginia Beach's residents, also, Sometimes New York's garbage were also sent to this dump site! After few years of garbage accumulations, the site was then full of trash that made the government closed it for service. They came up of an idea to make the dump more useful by building an attraction around it. So they started to kill all the possible bacteria in the entire site by burning or incinerating the garbage.
